Very similar in texture to our Hawaiian Warrior, this limited-edition flavor has a light tangy flavor and is made with yellowfin tuna caught right here in Hawaii.
We marinated our fish in a gluten-free soy sauce, fresh ginger, turmeric (or 'Olena as Hawaiians call it), and a secret blend of spices. We use only the freshest local ingredients and hand-cut the jerky before bagging it.
Polynesians brought 'Olena or turmeric with them to the Hawaiian Islands and considered it an important medicinal plant. 'Olena has been used for centuries by Hawaiians to treat inflammation and to purify the blood.
Ginger also grows wild on the Big Island. We use the roots in all kinds of recipes and also for medicinal purposes. It's great to treat indigestion and also benefits the circulatory system.
