About Kaimana Jerky

KAIMANA JERKY

The people of Hawai’i have sustained their families and respected the Pacific Ocean's powerful life force for centuries. In the Hawaiian language “KAIMANA” translates to “the power of the sea.” Kaimana Jerky has embraced the ancient art of drying fish to give our jerky a great taste for the modern lifestyle. Our Tuna Jerky comes in a variety of flavors and is delicately prepared, dried to perfection, and seasoned with all natural ingredients. Handcrafted with Aloha for 25 years!

Our jerky is made with quality ingredients and never contain MSG, nitrates, or preservatives that don’t naturally occur. We use a preservative free soy sauce made in the USA.

WHERE IS YOUR JERKY MADE?

All of our jerky is made in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are located just a few miles from amazing fishing grounds! Some of the deepest, nutrient rich waters are just offshore where an abundance of sea life thrive. All of our jerky is made here, seasoned here, and packaged here in the same facility! We follow strict FDA and Department of Health guidelines to ensure a high quality product.

WHO IS KAIMANA JERKY?

We started experimenting with fish jerky back in the 80’s and found out it was delicious. We gave it to our family and friends and they loved it too, so we started a family business and began selling to local stores in Hawaii. You can now find our jerky at most local grocery store chains including KTA, Foodland and Costco Hawaii.

We respect our natural resources. We surf, paddle, fish, hunt, farm, and live sustainably! We have been making fish jerky for more than 25 and are proud to provide something delicious to the local community that has it's roots in the ancient Hawaiian tradition of preserving fish. We support local business and believe that Hawaii has unique products that cannot be duplicated.

WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR MARLIN JERKY?

You may have noticed that we no longer sell our Marlin Jerky online. This is due to a new fishing conservation law signed by President Trump in Aug 2018. Currently, Marlin can only be caught and sold in the State of Hawaii. So the next time you're in the islands, look for our Marlin Jerky in grocery stores statewide.
